Quotes of the day:

Better stop short than fill to the brim. Oversharpen the blade, and the edge will soon blunt. Amass a store of gold and jade, and no one can protect it. Claim wealth and titles, and disaster will follow. Retire when the work is done. This is the way of heaven.

— Tao Te Ching

An asset-based approach is a type of business valuation that focuses on the net asset value of a company. The net asset value is identified by subtracting total liabilities from total assets. There can be some room for interpretation in terms of deciding which of the company’s assets and liabilities to include in the valuation and how to measure the worth of each.
